GCET (Goa Common Entrance Test) is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa for the candidates seeking admission to First Year of Professional Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering, Pharmacy, Architecture and Homeopathy in the State of Goa. Admissions to Degree course in Architecture shall be on the basis of NATA

Eligibility :

For MBBS, BDS and BHMS -Applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (Std. XII) examination of Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English and secured not less than 50% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together. (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only and 45% for applicants belonging to PH category for MBBS and BDS Course).

For 1st year B.E - The applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science / Biology and secured not less than 45% marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Mathematics with one of the following subjects Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Biology. (40% for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only).

First Year B. Pharm. - The applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with English, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects with one of the following subjects Mathematics/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science / Biology and secured not less than 45%* marks in the aggregate of subjects of Physics & Chemistry with one of the following subjects Mathematics/ Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Biology. (40%* for the applicants belonging to SC, ST and OBC only). As per Pharmacy Council of India Regulations, candidates passing Senior Secondary School examination conducted by National Open School, New Delhi are not approved/eligible for admissions to B.Pharm.

First Year B.Arch.: The applicant should have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate (Std.XIIth) examination of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects and secured at least 50% marks in aggregate (45% aggregate marks for applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC). OR 10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks.
OR
International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination. Applicants scoring minimum 80/200 at NATA will be eligible for admission to B.Arch.

Age :

An applicant to Degree courses in Medicine, Dentistry and Homoeopathy must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the academic year of admission to become eligible for admission to First Year. No age limit, minimum or maximum, is specified for admission to Engineering, Pharmacy and Architecture.

How to Apply :

Prospectus shall be available at notified places on payment of Rs.400/- in cash (Extra service charge notified payable to designated branches of notified Bank). Outstation candidates can obtain the prospectus and application form by sending request to
Director, Directorate of Technical Education, Alto- Porvorim, Goa, 403521 along with a DD of Rs.400/- payable in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji. Candidates may utilize downloaded Application Form –A for appearing at GCET-12 and submit the same in person at notified Application Reception Centre as per centre opted, alongwith a DD of Rs. 400/- payable in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji – Goa.

G2CET-2012(Common Entrance Test for Direct 2nd Year)

G2CET-2012(for Diploma and B. Sc. Degree holders) for direct admissions to Second Year Degree courses in Engineering and Pharmacy shall be conducted on 11/05/12 at Panaji and Margao centres from 10.00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. There shall be a single paper comprising of 100 objective, multiple choice type questions, carrying 1 mark each, with no negative marking.
