JIPMER MD/MS Entrance Exam - 12th February 2012
Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research is one of the oldest medical institutes in India established by French Government as “Ecole de Medicine de Pondichery” in 1823. In 1956 it was overtaken by Government of India and subsequently renamed as Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research. JIPMER has a large residential campus with 195 acres of land. It has all modern facilities and infrastructure along with highly skilled and experienced faculty. The institute has a total of 100 seats in its MBBS course and out of these admission to 82 seats is through JIPMER entrance. Rest 18 seats are through nomination by Government of India and are are selected by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria : Candidates should have passed MBBS Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India.Must have either complete or due to complete 1 year of Compulsory Rotatary Internship by 31st March 2012. Duration : Duration of the course is 3 years Selection: All the seats are being filled through the Competitive Entrance Examination to be conducted by JIPMER on 12th February 2012 (Sunday). Center of Examination: For the MBBS course, the Entrance Examination is conducted at Puducherry, Chennai, New Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad. Application Procedure : The application is available only Online. Completed application has to be posted with  Photograph, proof of payment (in case of DD) and necessary certificate as proof  category  On-Line Application: JIPMER MD/MS 2012 Applications can be submitted by an ON-LINE process (Internet based) by accessing the website: www.jipmer.edu.in from 05-12-2011to 09-01-2012. The Prospectus can be downloaded from the available link. Applicants may opt to remit the prescribed Application and Examination fee through one of  the following methods. (a) Through the Payment gateway available On-line (Credit/Debit cards/ Net Banking). The Transaction fee has to be borne separately by the applicant only. (or) (b) Bank Draft M.I.C.R. Demand Draft for Rs.1,000/- (For SC/ST: Rs.800/- only)  issued by any Nationalized Bank, drawn in favour of “Accounts Officer,  JIPMER” payable at Pondicherry.
