JIPMER is well known for its undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses and its alumni have excelled in different disciplines all over the world. JIPMER also promotes research in various medical disciplines.

Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, has invited applications from eligible candidates for admission into the DM, M.Ch programmes, to be offered in the January 2021 Session. Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) are also eligible to apply.

Programmes offered:

DM Courses: Cardiology, Clinical Immunology, Endocrinology, Medical Oncology, Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Pediatric Critical Care

M.Ch Courses: Cardio Thoracic Vascular Surgery, Neurosurgery, Pediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Surgical Gastroenterology, Surgical Oncology, Urology

Eligibility: 

• D.M. Cardiology, Clinical Immunology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, Neurology :
  M.D. / DNB Degree in General Medicine / Pediatrics of this Institute or any other Institute/University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India.
• D.M. Medical Oncology
  M.D. / DNB Degree in Medicine / Pediatrics / Radiotherapy of this Institute or any other Institute/ University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India.
• D.M. Neonatology , Pediatric Critical Care
  M.D. / DNB Degree in Pediatrics of this Institute or any other Institute/University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India.
• M.Ch. CardioThoracic Vascular Surgery, Neuro-Surgery, Urology, Surgical Gastroenterology, Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery
  M.S. / DNB Degree in General Surgery of this Institute or any other Institute/University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India.
• M.Ch. Surgical Oncology
  M.S./ DNB Degree in General Surgery / Obstetrics & Gynecology / Otolaryngology (E.N.T) / Orthopedic Surgery of this Institute or any other Institute/University recognized as equivalent there to by the Medical Council of India.

Duration : 3 years

Selection:

(a) FOR D.M. COURSE: the Computer Based Test (CBT) / online examination will consist of 100 MCQs in the concerned specialty and related fields. The duration of the examination will be 1½ hours.
(b) FOR M.Ch. COURSE: the Computer Based Test (CBT) / online examination will consist of 100 MCQs in the concerned specialty and related fields. The duration of the examination will be 1½ hours.

Admission will be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the entrance test, to be conducted by the Institute. 

The entrance examination is a paper based test administration

It consists of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) in the concerned specialty of the level of M.D. standard

For every incorrect response marked as correct one mark will be deducted

Minimum of 50% marks in the entrance examination will be required for the candidate to be eligible for interview

How to apply: 

Interested candidates are required to download the prescribed application form along with Hall Ticket (for entrance exam) from the Institute’s official website www.jipmer.edu

The prescribed fee should be paid in the form of demand draft drawn in favour of Accounts Officer, JIPMER payable at Puducherry

The duly filled in and completed application form along with all requisite enclosure documents and demand draft should be sent to the Professor (Academic), JIPMER, Dhanvantri Nagar, Puducherry-605006.
