The National Institute for the Mentally Handicapped (NIMH) is a registered society established in the year 1984 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India . The institute is an apex body having tripartite functions of training, research and services in the field of mental retardation in the country. Since past 25 years, institute has been making striking advances in building capacities to empower persons with mental retardation.

Last date for receipt of application forms : 20th May 2011  Entrance Examination to be conducted by Osmania University on : 19th June 2011  Commencement of Classes : 1st August 2011

Eligibility   : The candidate should have a degree from a recognized university in the following courses- MBBS, BUMS, BAMS, Naturopathy, BHMS BMR/BRS (MR)/BRT BOT BPT B.Sc.(HLS) Masters in Child Development M.Phil in Psychology PGDEI (proposed to apply directly to second year) The candidate should have secured 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree examination in case of general candidates and 45% marks in case of SC and ST candidates Duration : 2 years Number of seats : The total number of seats is 15 (Fifteen) of which reservation for SC, ST OBC and PH will be given as per the guidelines of Government of India. Affiliation : Osmania University, Hyderabad Admission Procedure : The Application – cum – prospectus can be obtained from the Asst.Admn.Officer (TP&S) NIMH, Manovikasnagar, Secunderabad-500 009 through Demand Draft in favour of Director, NIMH, Secunderabad.
