Applications are invited for JBNSTS scholarship examination from the students who have passed 10+2 examination from any board in 2015 and presently studying in 1st year B.Sc. (Hons.)/ B.E./ B.Tech/ B. Stat/ MBBS in any registered institute of West Bengal.Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search Scholarship is one among the most prestigious scholarship in India awarded in the field of Basic Science (hons), Engineering and Medicine for the students of West Bengal. The Scholarship is provided on the basis of a talent search examination by Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), Kolkata which is an Autonomous Registered Society under West Bengal Society Registration Act XXI of 1860.
Eligibility
(i) Applicant for Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search Scholarship must be a citizen of India
(ii) Applicant must have completed their higher secondary i.e. 10+2 examinations
(iii) Applicant must have enrolled for an undergraduate programme in the following
courses in registered Colleges/ Institutes/ Universities in West Bengal
a) Basic Sciences (Hons)
b) Engineering
c) Medicine
(iv) Applicant must be prepared to give a written test on various subjects such as those of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in order to avail the scholarship.
Scholarship amount
A scholarship of Rs. 1000/- p.m. till M.B.B.S. for the students of medicine and till B.E. / B.Tech for the students of engineering. The selected scholars from pure science shall automatically be entitled to the DST-INSPIRE scholarship of Rs. 80,000/- p.a. till M.Sc. Annual Book Grant Rs. 1000/- p.a. for the scholars.
