National School of Drama (NSD) Screening Test : Screening
Process
The Screening Process involves two stages:
Stage I- The first stage of screening comprises of an audition/
practical test.
Centres for the audition are : Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Mumbai
Stage II- Candidates who are successful in Stage I qualify to
move on to the second stage. In the second stage candidates have to go
through a 3-5 day workshop on the campus of NSD, New Delhi. Candidates
are selected for the course on the basis of their performance and potential
in the workshop.
The medium of instruction at the school is English and Hindi depending
upon the subject and the situation.
Scholarship - NSD awards scholarship of three thousand rupees (Rs
3000) per month to selected candidates. Such candidates are required to
execute a bonf of Rs.72.000.00 to the effect that if the candidate discontinues
the training before end of three years, or is made to discontinue on disciplinary
grounds, he/she will have to return all the money paid to them before
discontinuance. They have to furnish a surety of Rs72,000 duly attested
by a District Magistrate/Collector/Dy. Commissioner(Revenue Authorities).
