Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) : Admission Procedure
Director of Technical Education will release notifications related to
admission in five news papers of the state.
After the result of GCET, all applicants seeking admission
should send another application Form (B) for admission which is included
in the Common Prospectus. Two recent photographs, one of which should
be affixed to the application form (B) in the space provided and other
photograph should be affixed to the acknowledgement card. The applicant
should submit the duly filled application in person at the admission center
and obtain the acknowledgment card with registration number duly signed
as a proof of submission of Form. Only one application should be submitted
even if the candidate intends to claim more than one categories or more
than one course of study.
Self attested photocopies of relevant certificates and
testimonials should be attached to the Application and the same shall
be tick marked in the check list on the form.
Enclosures to be submitted along with the application form.

Two recent passport size photographs, one of which
should be affixed to the Application Form in the space provided and
the other photograph should be affixed to the acknowledgement card.

Self-attested photocopies of relevant certificates
and testimonials should be attached to the Application form and the
same shall be tick marked in the checklist, on the form.

Statement of marks of H.S.S.C or its equivalent
examination.

Date of Birth Certificate from Competent Authority.

Certificate of residence from the Mamlatdar, indicating
period of continuous residence in Goa, preceding the month of
application. In case, the continuous residence in Goa is less than
10 years and more than 5 years, and the applicant wants to claim,
concession on the grounds of parents/grandparents being born in Goa,
the birth certificate of either of the parents/grandparents from the
Registrar of Births & Deaths, and documents to establish their
link with the applicant.

Leaving certificate from school or college attended
last, attested by the Headmaster/Principal of the institute.
The applicants who claims seats under SC/ST/OBC should
enclose valid certificates with the admission form. Otherwise his/her
application will be treated as General category, if eligible. In case
an applicant has applied for verification of HSSC marks, and his/her revised
marks changes his/her eligibility or order of merit to any course, he/she
should inform to the Chairman, Admission Committee about the revised results
in writing along with a certified copy of the revised mark sheet within
24 hours.
Separate merit lists will be prepared for al categories
as under:
- Medicine & Dentistry (up to merit 400 only)
- Engineering for all eligible candidates
- Pharmacy for all eligible candidates
- Architecture for all eligible candidates
For Engineering seats, a general list shall be prepared,
in order of merit, which will include all candidates fulfilling academic
and residential requirement conditions of legibility applicable for General
Category. In addition, a local list will be prepared, which will include
all candidates who have passed the qualifying examination form the state
of Goa, in order of merit, not fulfilling the requirements of General
Category and shall be operated to any vacant seats after General list
is exhausted.
Valid score : An applicant for degree courses
in Medicine, Engineering and Pharmacy must have appeared and obtained
valid score at the Goa Common Entrance Test ( GCET) conducted by Government
of Goa for the year of admission. GCET score of the previous year is not
valid. For Medicine and Dentistry Degree courses, minimum GCET score should
be 50% for General and 40% in case of SC/ST/OBC aggregate in specified
subjects. No minimum limit is specified for other course. An applicant
for degree course in Architecture must have appeared and obtained
valid score at NATA conducted by Council of Architecture.
Admission Procedure
The final merit lists will be displayed at the Admission Center and
on website. The eligible candidates who is desirous of seeking admission
will remain as per the specified schedule along with the Acknowledgement
Card, Documents in original & fees. And those who report for admission
rounds without Acknowledgement Card will not be considered.
Three admission rounds will be conducted to select the
candidate. An applicant listed in the merit list shall be eligible for
all rounds of admission irrespective of whether he/she has attended /availed
admission in the earlier rounds or not. If the candidate has taken admission
in any earlier round and cancelled the admission for whatsoever reasons
his/her further claim for readmission or upward mobility shall stand forfeited.
In case if the applicant reports late for admission,
then he/she will be considered only for the seats available, at that point
of time. The seats remaining vacant will be filled up in the subsequent
round as per the given schedule.
The fees for admission to specific Institutions shall
be accepted only in the form of Demand Draft. Candidate should write his/her
name, registration number, college and course to which admitted, on the
back of demand draft before submitting the same to the Institution. All
the applicants selected for admission to Engineering, pharmacy and Architecture
courses will be given provisional admission, subject to being found medically
fit. The admission will be cancelled by the Board in case he/she is found
medically unfit. And those candidates who are selected for admission to
medicine and Dentistry courses will also be examined by the Medical Board
of Goa, Medical College, Bambolim and only those found medically fit,
will be admitted to these courses.
Cancellation of Admission by the candidate
Vertical Mobility or transfer from one course /Institute to another;
from one category to another or from one branch to another in the same
institute for the courses included shall not be treated as cancellation
of admission. There shall be no deduction on this account. In such case,
the bank draft submitted by the student shall be returned and a new bank
draft shall be accepted.
If an applicant desires to cancel admission for any reason,
during the centralised admission process, but before the start of academic
session, he/she shall be allowed to do so. All fees except the admission
fee shall be returned to him/her.
