Jammu & Kashmir Common Entrance Test : Introduction
A Common Entrance Test is conducted by the Board of Professional Entrance
Examinations (BPEE) in the State of Jammu & Kashmir by an Act of the
State Legislative. Under the Act, the Board is assigned with chore of
conducting entrance tests and selection of candidates for admission to
various professional courses in the State of Jammu and Kashmir.
The purpose of conducting the Common Entrance Test is for determining
eligibility / merit of students seeking admission to undergraduate medical,
dental, engineering and agriculture courses. Both the Government aided
and affiliated private institutions in J&K will accept the merit ranking
of CET for admission into various programs.
The test will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the
Board of the Professional Entrance Examinations Act, 2002, Jammu and Kashmir,
Reservation Act, 2004 , J&K Reservation Rules, 2005, rules , orders
, notifications and directions issued/ to be issued by the Govt. of Jammu
and Kashmir from be time to time concerning undergraduate professional
education in medical, agriculture and engineering fields .
