Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) : Application
Candidates who are studying their Qualifying Examination within Karnataka
can obtain their brochure with application forms from the respective Principals
by submitting a demand draft of a requisite amount.
Candidates who have already passed their Qualifying Examination within
Karnataka and all 2nd PUC (Pre-University) repeater students should get
the brochure with application form only through 'Speed Post', directly
from the CET Cell, by sending a cloth lined self-addressed envelope and
a demand draft drawn in favour of the "Special Officer, CET Cell,
Bangalore" payable at Bangalore.
The Karnataka candidates who have studied or studying Qualifying Examination
outside Karnataka (including Horanadu, Gadinadu & other Karnataka
candidates), should get the brochure with application form only through
'Speed Post', directly from the CET Cell, by sending a cloth lined self-addressed
envelope and a demand draft of a requisite amount drawn in favour of the
"Special Officer, CET Cell, Bangalore" payable at Bangalore.
Karnataka candidates residing outside India can get the brochures by sending
a demand draft of requisite amount. The cover in which the D.D and the
cloth lined self-addressed envelope are sent should be boldly super scribed
with the words " Request for CET (The year) Brochure" and should
be sent individually by ‘Speed Post’. The application should send to the
following address.
Filling up the Application form
The candidates should fill the application form using a blue or black
ink ball point pen in capital letters only. Before filling the original
application form, the candidates are advised to take two or three photocopies
of the original application form and practice on them in the prescribed
manner.
The information / particulars furnished by the candidates in their ‘CET’
application form is Final. The information with regard to Date of Birth,
Mother Tongue, PU College Code, PU Student number, Religion, Reserved
Category, Name of the Caste, Annual Income, Rural & Kannada Medium
quota, Minority & BPL status, Special category, etc., if any, should
be filled invariably in the respective boxes in the application form.
In case, if any of the information furnished in the application form is
found to be false/incorrect, the application is liable to be rejected
at any point of time and the seat selected by the candidate, if any, is
also liable to be cancelled at any stage and the entire fee amount paid
by such candidate will be forfeited.
The candidates appearing for annual examination during the year of examination
should only write the code of the qualifying examination. The candidates
who have already passed their qualifying examination before the year of
examination and the candidates who are appearing for Karnataka 2nd PUC
Annual examination as repeaters need not write any code in the box.
The candidates whose Qualifying Examination is other than Karnataka
2nd PUC (i.e., CBSE, CISCE, etc.) need not furnish the College Code and
the student number. However, they are required to send a photocopy of
their Qualifying Examination marks card (on which the CET admission ticket
number is boldly written) to CET Cell soon after completion of Common
Entrance Test as soon as they get their Qualifying Examination marks card.
Candidate’s Photograph : Firmly paste a recent passport
size photograph within the space provided on the application form using
gum. The photograph should not cover the signature area below it. Do not
use stapler or pin, as the scanner will reject the stapled photographs.
Do not paste old photographs on the application form. If the photograph
affixed on the application form does not match with the actual candidate
present during examination, he will not be allowed to write the test.
Also, if the photograph does not tally with the actual candidate present
during seat selection, he will not be permitted to select the seat.
Study Details : All the candidates should write their
academic study details between 1st and 12th Standards in the box provided.
They are required to write full name and address of the institutions studied
and the respective telephone numbers with STD codes, the academic years
of study and the year of passing.
Appearance in the previous Common Entrance Tests :
If you have appeared for the Common Entrance Tests conducted by the CET
Cell and selected a seat during the previous years, then write the seat
selection particulars such as Year of appearance, the CET number and the
details of college and course selected, etc., in the box provided on the
application form.
All the candidates claiming reservation benefits should produce the
Caste certificate / Caste – Income certificate, as the case may be, corresponding
to the same Caste /Category and Income written in the application form,
when they come for seat selection process. Otherwise, they will not be
allowed to select seats under the reserved categories and will be treated
on par with a General Merit candidate.
After filling the application form, the candidates and parents should
affix their complete signature in the respective places provided on backside
of the application form, along with date. The candidate should not forget
to sign on both the places on the application form i.e., below the photograph
on the front side and below the declaration on the backside of the application
form.
All the candidates are required to compulsorily affix their left hand
thumb impression using a blue ink pad within the space provided on the
backside of the application form, in the following prescribed method.
The application forms without thumb impression will not be scanned and
the admission tickets will not be sent to such candidates.
All the candidates should preserve a photocopy of their filled application
form, before submitting the same to the respective Principals / CET Cell.
Sending the filled application form
The candidates who have received the brochure with application forms
through their schools or colleges should submit their filled applications
in the respective schools or colleges. The Principals of all the schools
and colleges in Karnataka teaching PUC or 12th standard including CBSE
& CISCE, have been requested to collect the filled application forms
from the students of their respective institutions, verify
whether the candidates have written their correct PU College Code, PU
Student number, etc. along with proper affixation of the candidates left
hand thumb impression and also to forward the filled application forms
to the CET Cell.
Candidates who have submitted their filled applications through the
schools and colleges should collect their admission tickets from the respective
schools and colleges and the candidates who fail to get their admission
ticket, should immediately contact their respective Principals with the
photocopy of their filled application form.
Candidates who have already passed their 2nd PUC or 12th standard in educational
institutions within Karnataka, the 2nd PUC repeater students and all the
Karnataka candidates residing outside Karnataka (Including Horanadu, Gadinadu
and other Karnataka candidates) who have procured their brochure with
applications through ‘Speed Post’ should also send the filled application
forms only by ‘Speed Post’ directly to CET Cell to the following address
