The Indian Institutes of Technology are institutions of national importance
established through an Act of Parliament. These Institutes play a leading
role in technological manpower development and have research programmes
comparable to the best in the world. The admissions to the Undergraduate
Programmes for all Indian and Foreign nationals at these institutions
are made through the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).
