West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (JEM) : Examination
JEM Examination consists of 4 papers : i) Mathematics (100
marks), ii) Physics (50 marks) & Chemistry (50 marks) and iii) Biological
Sciences (100 marks).
There are three different options for a student while appearing in the
Joint Entrance Examination (JEM- 2010) as stated below:
The question paper is of 2 hours duration and will have Multiple Choice
Questions (MCQ-type, with four options including single correct answer)
carrying 80% weightage of the total marks and remaining 20% will be of
short answer type. In MCQ type, for each incorrect response, 33.33% of
mark would be deducted and more than one answer indicated against one
question will be treated as incorrect response/answer.
All questions will have to be answered on specially designed machine
gradable answer sheets (OMR answer sheet). Answers are to be marked using
blue/black ball point pen only on the ‘OMR answer sheet’ and
answer to the ‘short questions’ are to be written in blue/black
ball point pen on the answer sheet provided for the purpose.
