| TOEFL Scholarship : Introduction
The TOEFL test (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is a registered
trademark of Educational Testing Service (ETS) and is the most accepted
English-language test in the world. TOEFL scores are accepted at more
than 8,000 colleges/ universities in 130 countries, including the United
Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the United States.
The TOEFL scholarship program is designed to award TOEFL test takers for
achieving academic excellence, exhibiting leadership skills, performing
extracurricular activities and demonstrating English-communication proficiency.
The TOEFL scholarship program can help the test taker to study at the
university of their choice.
Currently, the TOEFL scholarships are available to the test takers residing
in China, India, Japan, Korea and Taiwan. The TOEFL Scholarship Program
rewards students who have high academic achievement as well as :

an outstanding ability to communicate in English
•
demonstrated leadership skills
•
well-roundedness in extracurricular activities, including community service
•
innovative ideas as reflected in essays (and interviews, when applicable)
A total of nine TOEFL scholarships will be awarded to Indian students
demonstrating academic excellence at a college or university listed in
the TOEFL®
Destinations Directory (PDF). Three of these scholarships each worth
US $10,000 are available for study at a college or university in the U.K,
USA and Canada. Three scholarships each worth US $ 5,000 are available
for study at a college or university in the UK, USA and in Canada and
the remaining three scholarships each worth US $ 5,000 are available for
study in colleges at any other location. |
