| Hindu Hitachi Scholarships : Introduction
Hindu Hitachi Scholarships (HHS) were introduced in 1959 by The Hindu
Group of Publications of India (based in Chennai) and the Japanese conglomerate
Hitachi Limited. These scholarships are awarded to deserving Indian students
for undergoing technical training in Japan. The Hindu Hitachi Scholarships
have played a keen role in strengthening Japan - India relations and has
provided Indian engineers an opportunity to explore the Japanese world.
The technical training is normally be imparted in any one of the following
fields, as per the discretion of Hitachi Limited.
• Industrial
Systems
• Transportation
Systems
• Power Systems
• Information
and Telecommunication Systems
Hindu Hitachi Scholarships (HHS) will be awarded to three Indian Citizens.
Each year The Hindu invites applications from engineers who have a minimum
of One Year experience and are willing to pursue training in one of the
areas provided by Hitachi in Japan. The training lasts for about 6 months
from July to December including 40 days training in Japanese Language
at one of the AOTS kenshu centers.
