: Introduction
The Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Program at London
Metropolitan University has been set up to honour the major political and
spiritual leader of India, who is officially honoured in India as the Father of
the Nation. This scholarship is awarded by London Metropolitan University, UK in
conjunction with the Gandhi Smriti, New Delhi. London Metropolitan University is
one of the most popular universities in the UK for students from India. The
University has its own offices in India, which deal with all aspects of the
student recruitment process. The scholarship will be awarded annually to the
most outstanding Indian postgraduate student coming to London Met on the basis
of excellent academic performance in India.
Post graduate students from any subject are eligible to
apply for this scholarship. The scholarship program supports one Indian
student and covers the tuition fees for a Masters programme at
London Metropolitan University. Additionally, the university will support two
Indian students with a 50% reduction in tuition fees. The scholarship will be
promoted across India and open to students of any subject studying at London
Met, with a closing date of end June each year. The recipient must also demonstrate
the potential for leadership and social change as exemplified by Gandhi.
