Important Dates

Anna University, one of the prestigious educational institutions in Tamil Nadu, conducts entrance exams for admission to an array of courses, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Applications are invited for admission to M.Sc. (2 years) and M.Phil. Degree Programmes, offered in the University Departments of College of Engineering Guindy and Madras Institute of Technology campuses, Anna University, Chennai - 25 for the year 2019 - 20.

The various Disciplines offered under M.Sc. program are

1. Mathematics
2. Materials Science / Medical Physics
3. Applied Chemistry
4. Applied Geology
5. Electronic Media

Duration: 4 Semesters (2 Academic Years)

Eligibility

• Mathematics
  B.Sc. (Mathematics / Applied Science)
• Materials Science / Medical Physics - B.Sc. (Physics) with Mathematics as an Ancillary Subject (or) B.Sc. (Applied Science)
• Applied Chemistry-
  B.Sc. (Chemistry) (or) B.Sc. (Applied Science)
• Applied Geology
  B.Sc. (Geology/ Applied Geology)
• Electronic Media
  B.Sc. / BCA / B.E. / B.Tech. / B.A. (Journalism)

1. Crystal Science
2. Mathematics
3. Physics/ Medical Physics
4. Chemistry
5. English
6. Applied Geology

Eligibility

You should have passed the Master’s Degree in the relevant field with 10+2+3+2 year's pattern. Candidates appearing for final semester/year examination may also apply for admission.

Application Process

The application form is common for admission to all M.Sc. and M. Phil. Degree Programs. The candidates can register online by logging on to University’s website. The procedure for registration is available on Anna University’s website; the candidates should fill in all the required details while filling up the online application form.

Then print the filled-in application and submit it to “The Director, Centre for Admissions, Anna University, Chennai-600025” with required enclosures and a Demand Draft of Rs. 700/- for the general category and Rs. 350/- for SC/SCA/ST person belonging to Tamil Nadu in person or by post.

The University shall not be responsible for any postal delays.

Applications received after the last date will be rejected; the amount paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

M.Phil

A separate entrance examination for 1 hour based on M.Sc.  will be conducted by Anna University. On the basis on their performance in the entrance examination, they will called for a counseling session.

M.Sc

A separate entrance examination for 2 hour based on B.Sc.(Major) standard will be conducted by Anna University. Admission is based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination.

On the basis on their performance in the entrance examination, they will called for a counseling session.

The Counselling will be conducted at Anna University, Chennai - 600 025.
