NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY CUM ENTRANCE TEST [ NEET (UG) – 2026 ] will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), as a common and uniform National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions. Similarly, as per Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, there shall be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines i.e. BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act. NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to admission to BHMS course as per National Commission for Homeopathy Act, 2020. The languages in which the NEET (UG) 2026 would be conducted are: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. MNS (Military Nursing Service) aspirants seeking admission to BSc Nursing Course being conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2026 are required to qualify NEET. The NEET score will be used for shortlisting for selection to the four-year BSc Nursing course.

Eligibility Criteria

  1.  He/she has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course.
  2. Upper age limit: As per Letter No. U-11022/2/2022-UGMEB, dated 09 March 2022 received from National Medical Commission (NMC), Under Graduate Medical Education Board (UGMEB) regarding the upper age limit, there is no upper age limit.
  3. Indian Citizens/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) intending to pursue Undergraduate Medical Courses in a foreign Medical/ Dental Institute also need to qualify for NEET (UG).

Eligibility of OCI cardholders for NEET (UG)

  1. Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI), Persons with Indian Origin and Foreign Nationals are eligible for admission in Medical/Dental/Ayurveda/Siddha/Unani/ Homoeopathy Colleges subject to the rules and regulations framed by respective State Governments, Institutions and The Government of India, as the case may be.
  2. In compliance of the Hon’ble Supreme Court Order dated 03.02.2023 in WP No.891 of 2021, OCI will be entitled to the rights and privileges which had been conferred on them earlier to the notification dated 04.03.2021.

Pattern  Of The Test

The Test pattern of NEET (UG) - 2026 comprises Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology). The question paper will consist of 180 compulsory questions which must be attempted by the candidates in 180 minutes.

 Mode of Examination

NEET (UG) - 2026 will be a single day single shift exam in PEN and PAPER mode as was conducted in 2025.

Medium of the Question Papers

NEET (UG) - 2026 is being conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu mediums.

Application Procedure

  1.  Be extremely careful in filling in the Application Form. You can edit/modify any information before submitting each Section. Check again before pressing the SUBMIT button.
  2. Read instructions carefully about photographs, signature, Left and Right hands Fingers and Thumb impressions, and all certificates before uploading.
  3. Mobile Number and ‘Email ID’ need to be verified through OTP. Please understand that this is a very important step.
  4. Choose Question Paper ‘Medium’ carefully as it cannot be changed at a later stage.

Online submission of application may be made by accessing the Board’s website https://neet.nta.nic.in/ Instructions for submitting online application and payment of fee are available on website.

Candidates may remit the fee in the following manner:

b. Net Banking/UPIor
c . e-wallet of Common Service Centre (CSC)
