University of Calcutta (UOM) invites applications for M.Phil in Course 2019-22.
Applications are invited for two years M.Phil Course in :
Eligibility Criteria
Any candidate who has passed the M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. or equivalent Examination of this university with 55% marks in aggregate (S.C./S.T. with 50%marks)or With 60%marks in aggregate of any other recognized University. Students who are taking M.A./M.Sc./M.Com Part II Examination and or Final Semester Examination in the abovementioned subjects may also apply provisionally and sit for the admission test but their Final admission would depend on passing the examination obtained the required marks mentioned above. Candidates who have qualified NET, SET or any equivalent national level examination are exempted from the admission test, but not from the interview. Students who have done M.A. in South & South-East Asian Studies and any Social Science subjects, can apply for admission to M.Phil in South & South-East Asian Studies. Candidates for any stream of M.A., M.Sc., M.Com. and/or other P.G. degrees from any recognized university are eligible to apply for the course of Women’s Studies. Candidates of any stareams of M.A., M.Sc., M.Com. and other P.G. degrees from recognized Universities are eligible to apply for Women’s Studies.
How to Apply
Application forms and Brochure may be downloaded from University website (www.caluniv.ac.in or www.caluniv-ucsta.net) .Application fees of Rs.500/-for general candidates. SC/ST/PWD candidates will be required to pay Rs.250/ as application fee.
Mode of Payment of application fee : Application fees may be deposited in any of the following manner : (a) Through “SBI Collect” system; (i) By Internet Banking/debit card/credit card of any bank (ii) By cash to State Bank of India, C.U. Branch. For SBI collect system additional commission for bank transaction to be borne by the candidate. Copy of the fees deposition ereceipt is to be attached with the printed copy of the application.
Submission of forms :
Completed Application will be received by the office of the Secretary, U.C.A.C, Collage street campus, Asutosh Building, Ground floor, Room No.3G . Forms for Education, Sociology and Women’s Studies are to be submitted at the Alipur Campus, 1, Reformatory Street, Kolkata-700027. Forms for Library and Information Science are to be submitted to the concerned Department at Asutosh Building, 3rd floor between 11.a.m. and 3 p.m. on all working days mentioned above.
Reservation: for S.C. , S.T, and Differently-Abled candidate will be made as per University/Govt. rules. Implementation of reservation shall effect from the Academic session 2019-2021 as per W.B. Govt. rules in a phase-wise manner as given in relevant G.O’s and decided by the C.U. syndicate.
Course Fees: Rs. 4000/- to be paid in case by the selected candidates at the time of admission.
