The Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) will hold its Admissions Day till 14 July across 10 cities in India. In a first, students who sign up for MDIS Master’s Business programmes will be offered the chance at a management trainee position in the Institute upon graduation*. This singular opportunity will play an instrumental role in helping international students, especially those from India, gain a head start on a global career.
The 6-month appointment is open to all graduates from three programmes, namely Master of Business Administration in Banking and Finance, awarded by Bangor University, UK; Master of Business Administration in International Marketing, awarded by Bangor University, UK; and Master of International Business, awarded by Grenoble Graduate School of Business, France.
Globally connected transnational education
MDIS Business School (MBS) is the largest and most established school in the
institute. The School is committed to offering students a rigorous, industry-relevant
multi-disciplinary approach to education that will prepare them for career commencement
and advancement.
One of the most popular Business courses is the Master of International Business, awarded by Grenoble Graduate School of Business, France. The programme is ranked 13th worldwide in the Financial Times Global Masters ranking. Graduates have successfully secured jobs with top global firms including Amazon, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, and JP Morgan. The Master’s programmes by Bangor University are top choices among students pursuing Business and Finance courses too; the university is ranked among the Top 2% of Global Higher Education Institutes in the world.
MBS has recently introduced several new programmes including the Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, awarded by Bangor University, and the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Business Management (Top Up), awarded by the University of Sunderland.
Heightened focus on skills-based programmes
With a more than 60-year legacy in providing quality internationally accredited
education, MDIS has heightened its focus on vocational training to cultivate
future-ready graduates. The Institute recently introduced a diverse range of
new programmes across various academic levels and disciplines. Two new university
partners have joined its strong network of global universities – Teesside University,
UK and Edinburgh Napier University, UK.
The top three most popular courses among students from India include Business, Engineering and Health and Life Sciences. With new programmes recently launched for these schools, MDIS offers full progression pathways that range from professional certificate to Master’s, in partnership with renowned global universities from the UK and France.
MDIS Secretary-General, Dr R Theyvendran said, “MDIS is a globally connected institute and our vision is to shape the educational landscape in the region. The expansion of our academic programmes across various disciplines and levels supports our drive towards enhancing students’ future employability. Our Admissions Day gives potential students pursuing further or higher education, an idea of how an education at MDIS can shape their future careers.”
Beyond a strong practicum focus, MDIS students benefit from a rich and fulfilling academic life too. They develop critical and soft skills needed for career success through participation in MDIS Experience Workshops, Student Clubs and Special Interest Groups. Additionally, international students live and study in a conducive and secure environment on campus, with peers who have come from over 80 countries.
