IIT Hyderabad to conduct course on Business Analytics from July 19

Recognizing the importance of business analytics as a discipline and the shortage of qualified data scientists, the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department of IIT Hyderabad will conduct a five-day certificate course on 'Business Analytics using R' for working professionals from July 19.

According to Prof Sobhan Babu, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Hyderabad, "Big data analytics/Business Analytics is a discipline which is changing our lives drastically. It is touching every area of human society from banking to health care. I am quite happy to teach this wonderful and fascinating subject to working professionals and see them mastering this area."

The course is tailor-made for those working professionals who want to enhance their knowledge in business analytics as well as for those who are looking for career shift to business analytics. This course will be taught by well qualified faculty from IIT Hyderabad and experienced data scientists from the industry.

The course will provide participants with the knowledge and essential skills needed to address the challenges of data intensive decision-making environments. It is a case-study based course, with participants getting extensive hands-on training using the open source R statistical software, whose popularity has increased substantially in recent years. Participants must have undergraduate level mathematical or statistical maturity, an IIT-Hyderabad statement said here today.
