Karnataka Skill Development Corporation (KSDC) has submitted a proposal to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to set up Karnataka German Technical Training Institute in the city.
There were reports that 75 per cent of the engineering students who pass out every year are not industry fit.
The institute will help students to find job opportunities in the global workplace and to make them industry-ready as per international standards. KSDC Chairman Muralidhar Halappa said that the chief minister had given his approval for the proposal and directed the district administration to take measures towards setting up the centre in the city. The centre would cater to the needs of the students from Mandya, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Hassan and Kodagu district.
Even Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who inaugurated the mega job fair yesterday, also agreed to set up institute in the city.
