IIMC announces admission schedule for PG courses in Journalism

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) has announced admission schedule for Postgraduate Diploma courses in Journalism, an official spokesman said here on Tuesday.

The courses are to be offered at IIMC nodal campus at New Delhi and regional campuses at Dhenkanal in Odisha,Amravati in Maharashtra, Aizawl in Mizoram, Jammu in Jammu and Kashmir and Kottayam in Kerala, he said.

The courses for which admission process has been started include Post-Graduate Diploma in English Journalism, Post-graduate Diploma in Hindi Journalism, Post-graduate Diploma in Radio & TV Journalism, Post-graduate Diploma in Advertising and Public Relations, Post-graduate Diploma in Odia Journalism, Post -graduate Diploma in Urdu Journalism, Post-graduate Diploma in Marathi Journalism and Post-Graduate Diploma in Malayalam Journalism.

The last date for submission of application forms for admission to these PG courses is May Ist, 2018.

The eligibility for admission to PG Diploma coursesis Bachelor's degree in any discipline. Those who have appeared / are appearing for adegree examination are also eligible to apply.

The admission will be done through an Entrance Examination to be conducted on 27 May 2018 at New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Amravati, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Dehradun, Dhenkanal, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kolkata, Kottayam, Lucknow, Mumbai, Patna, Ranchi, Raipur and Srinagar.

The examination for the Journalism Course in Urdu will be held on May 26, 2018 at New Delhi, Bhopal, Srinagar, Jammu, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Mumbai and Patna and Odia and at Dhenkanal. The written examination for Marathi Journalism will be held on May 26, 2018 atMumbai, Amravati and Malayalam Journalism will be held at Kottayam.

He said the short-listed candidates will be called for an interview/group discussion during the last week ofJune/first week of July 2017 in New Delhi.

Applications can be filled online at www.iimc.nic.in and fee of Rs 1500 can be also paid online.Candidates can also download the application form, fill it and send by post along with theDemand Draft for application fee drawn in favor of 'IIMC, New Delhi' to the address 'TheAdditional Director General (T&A), Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Aruna Asaf Ali Marg,New Delhi-110067'.
