The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) is soon start agricultural engineering and textile engineering courses from the next academic year at its constituent college in Narasaraopet. Announcing this to mediapersons here on Thursday, Vice-chancellor Prof VSS Kumar said that the government had allotted 85.94 acres of land for the construction of the new buildings for its Narasaraopet campus engineering college .
He said plans were underway to shift the third year B Tech students to the new campus by June end. Giving out the university's achievements during his tenure, the Vice-chancellor has said that all India vice chancellors Meet was held in the campus on Technical education with out based curriculum improvement.
Convocation was held twice during 2015 and 2018. To fill the gap on the shortage of faculty Massive open online courses (MOOC's) were introduced both in JNTUK and in affiliated colleges in selective courses and are being conducted successfully.
Jumbling system was introduced to maintain transparency in examination process and exemption is being given to women's colleges as well as the colleges which are below 25 kms distance. The Ph .D admissions were strictly conducted for the year 2015-2016 adhering to rules and regulations. The process was highly streamlined and seats are allotted based on the ranks in the Ph D entrance examination. Ph D thesis evaluation is being done with high degree of confidentiality to maintain quality process' he added. Rector Prof Poornanandam, Registrar Dr Subbarao OSD Prof Ramana, Director academic and planning Dr Ch Satyanarayana and PRO Prof Ch Saibabu were among those attended.
