More than 2 lakh appear for JEE (Main) 2018 online exam

After the offline exam of JEE (Main), the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has completed the two-day online process of examination for more than two lakh students.

"A total of 216756 students appeared for online exam for Joint Entrance Exam (JEE-Mains) on April 15 and 16. Of which 216205 appeared for exams in 239 cities at 364 centres," stated the release issued by the Board on Monday.

"Abroad, a total of 551 candidates gave examinations," it stated further. Successful candidates will be eligible for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programmes in NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded Technical institutions.

JEE (Main) is also an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced) for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IIT/ISM Dhanbad.

The exam was conducted under the supervision of the Chairperson, Secretary, Executive Director (JAB) and the team of other officials of CBSE, the release further stated.
