NIRDPR to launch PGDRDM course soon

For young aspirants aiming to be catalysts for change in the rural development sector, the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj's (NIRDPR) will launch Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM) course soon.

The PGDRDM course aims to create a committed and competent cadre of rural development professionals in the country through incorporating components of classroom training and interactive learning, fieldwork and rural organizational internships, a statement from NIRDPR said here on Thursday.

The course will provide the students with core development and management insights along with analytical skills for planning and managing rural development programmes. It will also accord the students the opportunity to interact with entrepreneurs through the Rural Technology Park (RTP) a dynamic ecosystem constructed over 65 acres within the campus for technology, research, funding, government and NGOs to intersect and convert concepts and ideas into workable sustainable outcomes. The course stands out from several others in the industry since it brings in students from varied cultural and professional backgrounds under one roof. This capacity building course attracts rural development functionaries, elected representatives, academicians and young students alike.

Admissions for the 16th batch of the two-year residential programme have commenced at the Institute, and the selection is done through CAT/XAT/MAT/ATMA scores. Scholarships are being provided to select candidates, including to the economically backward students from the north eastern region through the support of the North Eastern Council, Shillong. Applications are being accepted till July 3, 2018, the statement added.
