In a major reprieve to students seeking enrollment in Bihar's colleges, they can now take admissions in colleges by filing applications online.
The online admission could become possible with the launch of Online Facilitation System for Students (OFSS) in the state.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar applauding the system said it would smoothen the process of data collection and also help update various facts and figures in a hassle free manner. He said that students would now get rid of various unnecessary problems.
Bihar School Examination Board chairman Anand Kishore gave a detailed presentation of OFSS before Mr Kumar at 'Vimarsh' situated inside official residence of CM at 1, Anne Marg.
Mr Kishore said students seeking admission in Intermediate level and graduate courses could fill forms online from the next academic year (2018-19). He said students could fill forms online from 'Chhatra Vasudha Kendras' and also through laptops, computers and mobile phones for admissions to various colleges. State education minister Krishna Nandan Prasad Verma, chief secretary Anjani Kumar Singh, principal secretary (education department) R K Mahajan, principal secretary to Governor Vivek Kumar Singh, principal secretary to Chief Minister Chanchal Kumar and other senior officers were present on the occasion.
