Smart Odisha Hackathon Competition would be held among the professional and technical students of the state for the first time from November 11 to 15 next.
Jointly organized by the Skill Development and Technical Education department and Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), the competition would be held during the Make In Odisha Conclave here.
The main objective of the hackathon is to attract the students towards startup, the use of Information Technology in the day-to-day life of the common people and to create creativity and entrepreneurship in the minds of the students.
Official sources here said the hackathon would be held mainly on education, health, disaster management, urban development, environment, skill development, agriculture and industrialization.
Students from 97 engineering colleges and students from 50 MBA, MCA and Pharmacy colleges are scheduled to participate in the hackathon.
Official sources said the winners of the competition would be awarded attractive cash prizes and would be given opportunity to develop various private and government projects.
