University of Essex, one of Britain’s top-rated Universities has announced admission for its MSc Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine programs and is inviting applications for the same from graduate students for the October intake for 2019-2020 session.

University of Essex, awarded UK’s University of the Year 2018 in the Times Higher Education Awards, is a gold rated institution in UK’s Teaching Excellence Framework and ranked 29th overall in The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019.

University of Essex’s MSc Biotechnology and MSc Molecular Medicine Program are both intense 1-year full-time programs which offer a flexible course structure with a mixture of compulsory and core module.

University of Essex’s MSc Biotechnology enables students to improve practices in diverse fields including genetics, agriculture, bioremediation, immunology, diagnostics, energy production, and age-assisted living. It provides students with advanced training in cutting-edge ‘omics’ technology, that is highly valued by employers in both academia and in the commercial sector. The course will also grant them specializations in industrial biotechnology, providing them with ample opportunities in this rapidly growing key technology.

Molecular medicine is transforming the way we understand and treat human diseases, ranging from cancers to neurodegenerative disorders. Essex’s MSc Molecular Medicine program provides students with hands-on experience in modern molecular, cancer, and cell biology, allowing them to uncover how rogue cellular processes can lead to diseases. Through state-of-the-art practical training and interactive lectures, they will gain an understanding of the core foundations of molecular medicine, and how it may be used in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases.

Both the courses have a very high proportion of practical work that provides valuable experience to the students.

Speaking on the announcement of admission to these programs, Prof. Philip Mullineaux, Head of School, Biological Sciences Director of the Research, UoE said, “These well-established courses are closely allied to our research program and all students will work closely with internationally recognized researchers. Our ethos of excellence in education and research has recently been recognized for our undergraduate courses in the UK’s National Student Survey 2019 where we’re ranked 13th in the UK for Biology out of well over 100 institutions. The same dedication to our master’s program assures you that you will have an excellent training and educational experience”.

The last date of submission of the application is 10th August 2019.The admission process for both the programs has already begun and students can apply by visiting https://www.essex.ac.uk/courses/pg00469/1/msbiotechnology&https://www.essex.ac.uk/courses/pg00686/1/msc-molecular-medicine
