Established in the Year 2010, College of Agricultural Technology is affiliated to the erstwhile Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore. Situated at foot hills of Western Ghats, the entry point to the fertile and ever green Cumbum Valley, adjacent to River Vaigai, the College of Agricultural Technology (CAT Theni) inculcates globally acceptable practices in delivery of education and developing research culture.
Transformative methods of teaching and learning include broad based curriculum underscored by multi-disciplinary courses, cross discipline-faculty improvement programs which help students realize their potential. The campus facilitates students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds from across the country, as a result the learning is joyful and vibrant.
The labs are equipped with Laminar Flow chamber, tissue culture rack, flame photo meter, pH meter, EC meter, Lux meter, dissection microscopes, compound microscopes, insect collection boxes, autoclave, oven, shaker, sox let apparatus, steam sterilizer, heating mantle, display charts, modules for each teaching. Glass wares viz., petri dishes, measuring cylinders, micro scope slides, cavity slides, Bunsen burners, sprit lamps, conical flasks, cylindrical flasks are also available.
Hostel Facility
Being a residential course, CAT, Theni offers hostel facilities separately for men and women. The hostels are separated widely and fenced. Care is taken to provide as much comfort as possible as the students have to spend a crucial part of their life at Hostel which is home-away-from home.
Scholarship Facility
Candidates admitted to CAT, Theni under Government Quota (General Counselling) are eligible to the following scholarships a) SC/ST scholarship b) First Graduate Scholarship c) Backward Class Scholarship d. Ulavar Pathukappu Nala Thittam - subject to Government Norms
