Mar Baselios Institute of Technology and Science (MBITS) was established in 2009 by Mar Thoma Cheria Pally, Kothamangalam, which is a six century old Parish Church and Pilgrim Centre, that is relied upon by millions of devotees for solace and fulfillment. The saint Eldho Mar Baselios undertook an arduous journey, from the Holy Land to Malankara, to give spiritual guidance to the followers of the church. This Holy Father was called to eternal abode from Kothamangalam and the saint’s tomb is situated inside the Mar Thoma Cheria Pally, Kothamangalam.

B.Tech. Civil Engineering

The admission to 50% of seats will be based on the Rank obtained in the All Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by Government of Kerala. Remaining 50% of seats are filled by the Management, on inter-se merit in the same examination.
Candidates for admission to the B.Tech Degree course shall be required to have passed the higher secondary/+2/XII Std. examination conducted by boards/departments recognized/accepted by the University, obtaining not less than 45% marks for Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
Those candidates who have not participated for the KEAM examination and those who are not qualified in the KEAM can appear for the Kerala Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by Kerala Self Financing Engineering College Managements Association.
Engineering diploma holders are eligible for admissions to second year B.Tech under Lateral Entry Scheme. 50% of such candidates are admitted based on the entrance test conducted by the Department of Technical Education. Remaining 50% seats are filled from eligible candidates on inter-se merit basis.
