Bahra University is established as State Private University by Act No. 2 of 2011 of State Legislature of Himachal Pradesh. Bahra University has been approved by the UGC under section 22 of the UGC Act 1956.
Bahra University is now member of Governing Council of Association of Indian Universities (AIU),vide letter No. Meet/GC/336/2015 Dated 15th December, 2015.
Library : The Bahra University Library is the key knowledge resource centre with large stock of books, periodicals, digital resources, journals and reference material. The library is connected with other resource centers through various networks like DELNET.
Computer Center: The Bahra University is interconnected through a largely secure IT back bone enabling hundred of computers to network through wired and wireless infrastructure.
