Commander S.T.Ali, NM (Retd.), established Commander Ali’s Academy of Merchant Navy at Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) on the 1st of September 1994 on superannuating from the Indian Navy where he put in over 42 years of meritorious service.The Academy is an ISO 9001:2000 Institution certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), Netherlands and all its courses have been approved by the Directorate-General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping, Government of India and Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA), Government of United Kingdom.
