Named after the patron saint of the local catholic parish, the college was started in the year 1965 under the patronage of Rt.Rev.Dr.Sebastian Vayalil, the First Bishop of Pala.
The College Campus spread over 24.8 acres, has a dozen buildings including 7 imposing multi-storeyed buildings, an auditorium, 5 seminar halls, a Students’ Centre, a spacious and modern College Library with working hours from 9.00am to 5.00pm, MG University Study Centre with 4000 e-journals under UGC INFLIBNET, DST sponsored Centre for Mathematical Sciences, Students’ Hostel, Guest House, Faculty Hostel, Canteen, Gymnasium cum Health Club, 4 Computer Centres with broad band Internet facilities, Playgrounds, Indoor Stadium, Sports Hostel, Co-operative Store and canteen, Chapel for prayer service, 130KV Power Generator House, beautiful evergreen garden, botanical garden and Green House.
