BS-MS Dual Degree | Ph.D. Biology | Ph.D. Chemistry | Ph.D. Mathematics

1 .	BS-MS Dual Degree
	Eligibility Higher Secondary (10 +2) or its equivalent candidates can apply
	Duration 5 year BS-MS dual degree with major in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics
	Admission Procedure Through IISER Science Aptitude Test Application is through online. To seek an admission, the candidate should apply through at least one of the three channels. (a) Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) (Passed 10+2 in 2010/2011) (b) Indian Institute of Technology, Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) Rank in regular merit list & 60 % marks in class XII) Direct Admission (School Boards results; Cut-off % is available in DST website)
	Other Details For the first four semesters, all students will take common courses in all disciplines (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics) & Humanities. From the fifth semester onwards, one may opt for courses in one or more areas. The final year will be devoted to a research project.

2 .	Ph.D. Biology
	Eligibility 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in: M. Sc. In Life/Biological Sciences or equivalent, including Biochemical, Biophysical, Biomathematical, Conservation or Ecological sciences. B.Tech/M.Tech /MBBS degree holders may also apply. The candidate MUST qualify National Eligibility Test (NET) with CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF or DBT-JRF-A or ICMR-JRF or CSIR-LS, INSPIRE-Ph.D (with rank 1 to 500) OR have a valid GATE (rank <300)
	Admission Procedure Selection : Only Eligible candidates that meet the minimum educational qualifications and satisfy the additional criteria set by the departments will be called for a written test followed by an interview that may be conducted in 1 or 2 rounds. Based on their academic record and the performance of the candidates in the written test and interview, the departmental selection committee will recommend candidates to the Chairman for admission to the Ph. D. program

3 .	Ph.D. Chemistry
	Eligibility 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in: M. Sc. or equivalent degree in Chemistry/ Physics/ Biochemistry/ Material Science/ Bioinformatics/ Pharmacy The candidate should have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) with CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF, CSIR-LS, JEST or INSPIRE-Ph.D or GATE. The following ranks for GATE will be eligible. Organic chemistry applicants: 1-500 ranks; Inorganic and Physical chemistry applicants: All ranks
	Admission Procedure Selection : Only Eligible candidates that meet the minimum educational qualifications and satisfy the additional criteria set by the departments will be called for a written test followed by an interview that may be conducted in 1 or 2 rounds. Based on their academic record and the performance of the candidates in the written test and interview, the departmental selection committee will recommend candidates to the Chairman for admission to the Ph. D. program

4 .	Ph.D. Mathematics
	Eligibility 55% marks (50% for SC/ST) in: M. A./M. Sc. Mathematics/Statistics/Computer Science or M. Stat. or M.Tech The candidate MUST qualify National Eligibility Test (NET) with CSIR-JRF/UGC-JRF or have a valid GATE rank in Mathematics with more than 95 percentile or must have appeared for the NBHM Ph.D. screening test
	Admission Procedure Only Eligible candidates that meet the minimum educational qualifications and satisfy the additional criteria set by the departments will be called for a written test followed by an interview that may be conducted in 1 or 2 rounds.
