The Government Degree College, the third College in the district was established in 1983 vide. G.O.Ms.No.376/Edn. Dated: 12-09-1983 of the Telugeu Desam Government. This college was affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and attached to the newly formed Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University, Srikakulam from the Academic Year 2010-11. And the College was admitted to 2(f) and 12(b) of U.G.C Act on 09-11-1992. Since inception B.A. and B.Com courses were started later, B. Sc (MPC, CBZ) courses were introduced in the year 1998.
