Sree Narayana College, Cherthala, was founded by S.N. Trust, Kollam, with the objective of providing higher education to the young men and women, especially of the backward communities of the locality. The College was inaugurated on 14th July 1964 by the late Sri.R.Sankar, the founder Secretary of S.N.Trust and the former Chief Minister of Kerala. The College is affiliated to the University of Kerala and is recognised by the UGC
