Government Polytechnic College, Ferozepur was established under Border Area Development Project in 1990 at a time when the need of imparting technical education to the youth of this border area was being directly felt. It is located in a pollution free, eco-friendly environment in the vicinity of other educational institutes like R S D College, Dev Samaj College, and District Institute of Education and Training in Ferozepur City. It is committed to achieve academic excellence in providing comprehensive and value based technical education. Institute intends to develop engineers who are not only sensitive to technical issues but also able to apply their analytical, creative and innovative skills and ideas to shoulder leadership, responsibility in business, service and manufacturing organizations. 	Eligibility Admission to Diploma Level Courses is done by online counseling at state level. For admission to 1st year candidate must have passed Math, Science and English in Matriculation. Merit of Joint Entrance Test (J.E.T.) Examination conducted by Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Punjab, Chandigarh is considered, for lateral entry in 2nd year the merit of ITI trade or +2 vocational or +2 Non Medical is considered.Fee Waver admission is done at institution level on merit in 1st year only. The students having passed Matriculation in Maths, Science and English are eligible to appear in the in the J.E.T. Knowledge of Maths, Science and English is the base for technical education.
