The Government of Kerala vide its G.O.(Ms)No.134/20l0/H.Edn. Dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 01-07-2010 ordered to start a Polytechnic College named Model Residential Polytechnic College at Kuzhalmannam Village of Palakkad district in the state with two diploma level courses Civil Engineering ( Water Resources Management ) and Civil Engineering ( Environmental Engineering ) under the joint venture of Institute Of Human Resources Development (IHRD) and the Agency For Non Conventional Energy and Rural Technology (ANERT) both the Government of Kerala organisations. Accordingly the construction of buildings for the college was started in the land of 5 Acres under the possession of ANERT in Kuzhalmannam Village of Palakkad district. Later on due to some administrative and technical reasons, Government issued another order G.O.(MS) No: 22/2012/PD Dated Thiruvananthapuram 28/9/2012 to delink the part of ANERT from the joint venture ship of management of this college with IHRD and transfer the land and buildings under construction to IHRD.
