Shri Mahadeshwara Govt. First Grade College is one of the oldest government first grade colleges in Karnataka. Initially this college was established with the financial assistance of Sri Malai Mahadeshwara Swamy Temple Trust and was later taken over by the Department of Collegiate Education, Government of Karnataka during the year 1966. It is the first such ‘taken-over’ college in Karnataka.
