T.K.M college of Engineering is the major institution for technical education under the T.K.M college trust. T.K.M college of Engineering is built in the Mughal architectural style, and is a distinctive landmark. It has the unique distinction of being the first engineering college in the private sector in Kerala. The foundation stone of the college was laid in the year 1956 by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, The first President of Independent India. The college was formally inaugurated by Prof. Humayun Kabir, then the Minister for Scientific and Cultural Affairs, Govt. of India, on 3rd July, 1958.
