UPSC Central Armed Police Forces Exam, 2024 - On 4th August, 2024

Important Dates

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has commenced the recruitment process for 323 posts in Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2024. UPSC released the dates and the procedure for applying on its official website — upsc.gov.in —on April 24, 2024. The last date for applying for UPSC CAPFs post is May 14th, 2024 till 6:00 pm. The UPSC CAPF 2024 written examination will be conducted on August 4, 2024.

Out of the 323 UPSC CAPF vacancies, Border Security Force (BSF) will recruit 100 candidates, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) will recruit 108 people, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will recruit 28 people, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) will recruit 21 people and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) will recruit 66 people. These vacancies will be filled up in accordance with the UPSC CAPF examination. The number of vacancies is currently tentative.

Before applying for UPSC CAPF examination, candidates should check the official website for eligibility conditions and other instructions at www.upsconline.nic.in

The eligible candidates will be issues an e-admission certificate three weeks before the examination date, which isDecember 20,, 2020. No admit card will be sent by post.

Eligibility Conditions

Nationality : No person who is not a citizen of India shall, except with the consent of the Central Government signified in writing be appointed or employed under these Rules.
Provided that nothing contained in these rules shall debar the appointment, enrolment or employment of a subject of Nepal or Bhutan under these Rules.

Sex : Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for appointment to the post of Assistant Commandants.

Age Limits  :

(a) A candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on 1st August, 2020, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1995 and not later than 1st August, 2000.

(b) The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable.
(i) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.
(ii) upto a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.
(iii) upto a maximum of five years for Civilian Central Government Servants in accordance with the existing instructions of the Central Government. Ex-Servicemen will also be eligible for this relaxation. However the total relaxation claimed on account of Government Service will be limited to five years.
(iv) upto a maximum of five years if a candidate had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu & Kashmir during the period from 1st January, 1982 to the 31st day of December, 1991.

Educational Qualifications :

A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.
