UK Education : Introduction

U.K. has an advanced economy as well as one of the leading educational systems in the world. If one think about doing their higher education abroad they can choose UK as their first option, because qualifications from UK are recognised  throughout the world due to it's high standard and quality. In a year over 80,000 people from different parts of the world  travel to UK for their studies, among them Indian students comprises of more than 19,000. Full-time undergraduate courses in the UK vary from one year to four years depending on the type of course you choose. One major advantage of U.K. education is its one-year Masters Degree for almost all courses, saving you considerable time and money. Following is the eligibility criteria for study in UK for MBA, Engineering, Bachelors, Masters and P.hd programs for getting admission into British universities:

Eligibility:-

English language proficiency is very important for a student to study in UK.
If English is not a student’s first language, most institutions will ask for a qualification in English, or they may ask a student to sit a test.

They will be required to successfully complete one of the following:

• An English preparatory programme
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
• English language GCSE (grade C or above)

Eligibility varies according to course, UG and PG students should have high mark scores along with language proficiency. Colleges and universities will look at an applicant's qualifications, personal statement, academic references, portifolio and statement of purpose of study to see if he/she meet the standard requirements.

The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is the entrance test to be taken by the students applying for a master degree in any field other than management (most universities in the UK do not ask for a GRE score). All applicants applying for a master in management or Business Administration major must submit the result of Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). In addition to these tests, all students whose native language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) or the IELTS.
