INIFD Academy of Interiors launched in Mumbai

Bigg Boss, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, Nach Baliye fame and Bollywood star Mahek Chahal today launched 'INIFD Academy of Interiors' in the western suburb of Andheri.

The academy is mentored by Bollywood diva and celebrity interior designer Twinkle Khanna-Kumar.

The event was also graced by Vivek Gautam, director of INIFD-Andheri and Mamta Gautam, centre head of INIFD-Andheri.

Speaking at the launch, Ms Chahal said, 'A regular design education is must for the students to be the established designers of tomorrow. She guided the students and aspiring youngsters to join the fastest growing Interior Design Industry.'

International Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD), one of India's largest chain of design schools, has launched the first of its kind exclusive interior design nationwide chain, 'INIFD Academy of Interiors' (IAOI) at Andheri, for the exclusive Interior Design Programs supported by international industry giants like Duravit Living Bathrooms, CIA International and Hello Kitty Furniture as knowledge partners.

These global brands will be sharing knowledge with interior design students of IAOI, thus providing more opportunities.

Mr Gautam said, 'With the launch of 'INIFD Academy of Interiors', now the students would get specialized training with practical industry experience, keeping them abreast with latest happenings and updated know how. INIFD will be the exclusive chain of training schools in the country focused exclusively on Interior Design programs.'

'Industry is looking for trained professionals in the interior design business as spaces are squeezing and more and more people are becoming fashion conscious for their interiors - be it offices,apartments, malls, hotels, residences, etc. The career opportunities are growing in Real Estate, Hospitality, Lighting Design, Visual Merchandising, Exhibitions, Home & Retail', added Ms Gautam.

The Academy is offering 2-year PG Specialization Program, 3-year Specialization, 2-year Advance Program and 1-year Foundation Program in interior design.

Besides Twinkle Khanna, there are other mentors like Massimo Ottone, head of CIA International, Italy and 'Hello Kitty'; Sundeep Kochhar, the famous astrologer and Vastu expert; Wasim Khan, leading interior designer; and Tarak Shah,India head of the Italian furniture chain 'Minotti'.
