Kannur University is set to sign a Memorandum of Understading (MoU) with the London based Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and International Skill development corporation Limited (ISDC) for introducing international accounting system in B Com, M Com, BBA and MBA courses of the University.
A discussion is held at University campus here with Vice Chancellor Dr M K Abdul Khader, Joseph Tom-Head of strategy ISDC and Muhammed Sajid Khan-Head of the International development represented ACCA and Pro Vice Chancellor Dr T Ashokan also attended.
ACCA will provide syllabus and training to the trainees of the affiliated colleges . The University will select two teachers from each colleges and ACCA will impart training to them in two sessions as per their module. The University will also make use of the suggestions of ACCA for improving their coverage of International financial reporting standard (IFRS) in all the above courses.
With the introduction of IFRS the students will be equipped with the new international accounting package. The agreements also aims to disseminate information in collaboration with each other to students about the accounting profession and the opportunities available to accounting and finance professionals. More companies are converging to IFSR system. It is expected that the ACCA's site of qualification will help the students in acquiring more opportunities in accounts and financial spheres.
