NMAT is designed on a multiple-choice question format that includes
Language Skills; Quantitative Skills, Data Interpretation & Data
Sufficiency and Logical Reasoning.
The NMAT is valid for entry into the following programs:
MBA full time
MBA(Core)
MBA(Actuarial Science)
MBA(Banking)
MBA(Capital Markets)
MBA(Pharmaceutical Management)
MBA(HR)
PGDM (Bangalore & Hyderabad Campus)
The test will be conducted in a time frame of 3 months starting from
31st October 2011, allowing choice of two retakes to the students should
any of them wish. In such cases, the best of three scores being considered
by NMIMS for admissions to MBA Core, MBA-Actuarial Science, MBA-Banking,
MBA-Capital Market, MBA-HR, MBA-Pharmaceutical Management at Mumbai
campus and PGDM at Bengaluru & Hyderabad Campuses.
Eligibility :
MBA (Core) : Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate
in first attempt
MBA (Actuarial Science) : Bachelor’s Degree in
Statistics / Mathematics / Engineering /Economics / Computer Science
with minimum 50% marks in Aggregate in first attempt.
Candidates with Professional Qualifications like A.C.A. (Institute of
Chartered Accountants of India) & ICWA (Institute of Cost &
Works Accountant of India) can also apply.
MBA (Banking) : Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from
a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate in first
attempt
MBA (Capital Markets) : Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate
in first attempt
MBA (Pharmaceutical Management) (Selection process is separate)
: Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Science, Life Sciences, Medical
doctors MBBS, BDS, BSMS, BHMS, BAMS, BUMS, B.Sc and M.Sc in Biotechnology
from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate
in first attempt. Post Graduate degree in Economics, Psychology and
Sociology can also apply.
MBA (HR) (Selection process is separate) : Bachelor’s
Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 50%
marks in the aggregate in first attempt
PGDM (Bangalore & Hyderabad Campus) : Bachelor’s
Degree in any discipline from a recognized University with minimum 50%
marks in the aggregate in first attempt
The Following Criteria Are Common To All Programmes :

Candidates appearing for their graduation examination
can also apply but their admission to the Programmes will be subject
to obtaining the required minimum cut off marks and also producing
all the necessary documents, in original, within the given stipulated
time.
- Those candidates who have passed, or, have appeared for graduation
examination from a University where Grade Point Average is given, such
candidates must produce in writing from the University concerned about
the equivalent percentage for the GPA/CGPA obtained.
- The candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree in the first attempt,
with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in aggregate from any of
the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature
in India or other educational institutions established under section
3 of UGC Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized
by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India.
- It is sole responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they
possess the necessary and requisite qualification for the admission
at NMIMS.
- If at any stage, it is found that a candidate does not satisfy the
eligibility criteria or the information furnished by him/ her in the
online registration is incorrect, his/her application for the admission
to the Programme, even if selected, will stand cancelled. Candidates
appearing for NMAT, Group Discussion & Personal Interview will do
so at their own risk, eventually, forfeiting their admission for want
of meeting the eligibility criteria.
- NMIMS reserves the right to alter the terms of eligibility without
intimation to the applicants.
How to apply :
Pearson VUE will carry out the online registration & will conduct
NMAT on behalf of NMIMS. Interested candidates have to visit the NMIMS
website for online registration. For appearing for NMAT online application
has to be duly submitted & payment of registration charges need
to be made in any of the prescribed mode within stipulated time.
• Candidates can apply for more than one Programme / Campus as
per his / her eligibility by giving preferences.
• The preferences once given cannot be changed later on.
Note : There will be three radio buttons for registration
i.e MBA (Full Time), PGDM & Both (FT MBA & PGBM). A candidate
who wishes to apply for more than one Campuses has to select the third
option of Both and has to pay registration charges as per the above
table.
The Registration charges for NMAT 2012 will be as follows :
Normal Registration
• Rs.1650/- for normal registration for FT MBA Programmes (Mumbai
Campus) or PGDM Programme (In case of first two options mentioned above)
• Rs. 2000/- for both FT MBA & PGDM Programme (In case of
third option)
Late Registration
• Rs. 2150/ for late registration for FT MBA Programmes (Mumbai
Campus) or PGDM Programme
• Rs. 2500/- for both FT MBA & PGDM Programme
The mode of payment will be as under:
1. Credit card
2. Cash at bank
3. Demand Draft
All those who register successfully will be called for the test, provided
they satisfy conditions of eligibility. It is the responsibility of
the candidate to check that he/she is eligible as per the eligibility
criteria stated above.

The NMAT 2012 will be conducted at following centers (Cities)
Test Centers:
North : Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow
West : Mumbai, Ahmedabad
South : Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin
Central : Indore, Allahabad, Bhillai, Bhopal
East : Kolkata, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Guwahati.
The venue details (School/College) at each location will be communicated
to the candidates through the confirmation e-mail sent after the candidate
has been scheduled.
Note: The University reserves the right to cancel any
venue of examination for any reason and the applicant will have to take
the test at any of the other venues available. The Institute’s decision
in this regard will be final.
Candidates will be short-listed on the basis of the combination of their
rank in NMAT and preferences.
Note: Group Discussion & Personal Interview for the FT MBA Programmes
of Mumbai Campus will be conducted in Mumbai only.
The result for NMAT 2012 will be declared on the website as per the important
dates available on the website. Shortlisted candidate is required to download
the call letter from the website www.nmims.edu. The dates for the subsequent
process will be uploaded on the website in due course. No separate call
letter will be mailed.
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the application
data in terms of academic marks obtained, work experience, marks obtained
in NMAT and GD/PI.
The selection criteria will be based on merit. The cut-off for deciding
the merit shall lie solely with NMIMS. Also, those candidates who have
applied for more than one Programme ,in their application forms, their
selection will be based on the merit score obtained by them as well as
on the availability of the seats. In this regard, the decision of the
NMIMS will be final and undisputable and shall be binding on all concerned.

the details of various steps of selection process. All communication to
the candidates will be through NMIMS website only. No separate communication
will be sent in this regard.
