The Veterinary Council of India (VCI) is a statutory body established by an
Act of Parliament viz Indian Veterinary Council (IVC) Act, 1984 under the
Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India for regulation of
veterinary practice, veterinary education, preparation and maintenance of Indian
Veterinary Practitioner's Register
As per Regulation 7(8) of VCI - Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education -
Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) Regulations, 2016 that 15% of the total number
of seats of each recognized veterinary college as included in the First
Schedule to the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 and veterinary
qualification recognized before the commencement of academic year 2021-22
shall be filled up on all India basis through Common Entrance Examination.
In pursuance of letter No. No. K-12052-6/1/2107-LH dated 27.11.2018 issued
by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Ministry of
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, Veterinary Council of
India will use National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (UG)-2021 (NEET (UG)-2021)
qualified Merit List for admission of students to B.V.Sc. & A.H. Degree course
during the academic year 2021-22 for filling up of seats in recognized
Veterinary Colleges (except Jammu and Kashmir) under 15% All India Quota. The
other criteria for admission/selection of students for admission to B.V.Sc. &
A.H. Degree course Page 2 of 31 shall be as per Veterinary Council of India -
Minimum Standards of Veterinary Education - Degree Course (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)
Regulations, 2017
Eligibility:
- The candidates should be Indian Nationals (except from the State of Jammu
& Kashmir).
- He/She has attained or will attain the age of Seventeen (17) years as on
31st December, 2020. Candidates attaining seventeen years on 1 st of January,
2021 or later will not be eligible to appear at the AIPVT.
The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission under 15% All India Quota
Seats is 25 years as on 1st December, 2021. Further provided that this upper
age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates
of Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.
- Candidate must have passed any of the following qualifying examinations
:
Qualifying Examinations:
The Higher/Senior Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate
Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a
period of 12 years of study, the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry,
Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than
the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Educational
Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational
structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.
OR
The Intermediate Examination in Science from a recognized University/Board
with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test
in these subjects) and English as a core course.
- He/ She has passed the qualifying examination with the subjects of Physics,
Chemistry, Biology and English as core course or an examination equivalent
to intermediate Science examination of an Indian University/ Board
recognized
by the Association of Indian Universities taking Physics, Chemistry and Biology
including a practical test in each of these subjects and English.
- A candidate under General Category for admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H.
degree course must have passed in each of these subjects of English, Physics,
Chemistry and Biology, and obtained 50% marks in aggregate of these subjects,
at the qualifying examination. Admission of students to B.V.Sc. & A.H.
degree course shall be made only on the basis of his/her merit in the competitive
entrance examination. No other merit/ weightage shall be considered for admission
to B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course.
- ) In respect of candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes/ the Scheduled
Tribes or other special category of students as specified by the Government
from time to time, marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that
prescribed for general category. Where the seats reserved for the Scheduled
Caste and the Scheduled Tribes students in any State cannot be filled for
want of requisite number of candidates fulfilling the minimum requirement
prescribed by that State, then such vacancies shall be filled up on All India
basis with students belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes
getting not less than the minimum prescribed pass percentage.
Duration of Course: The duration of B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree course
is spread over five complete academic years including a compulsory rotating
internship of six months.
How To Apply:
Candidates can apply ONLY ONLINE
On-line submission of application may be made by accessing the website www.aipvt.vci.nic.in.
The duration of submission of application form with requisite fee is given in
SCHEDULE/FEE DETAILS. Instructions for submitting online application, payment
of fee are available on website.
Online Application Form cannot be withdrawn once it is submitted successfully.
The Candidate is NOT required to submit printout of the Confirmation Page
to the VCI
STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED TO APPLY ONLINE:
- Step 1: Download the Information Bulletin and read it carefully to ensure
your eligibility to appear at the examination.
- Step 2: Read the instructions for applying online given in the Information
Bulletin and keep entire information ready including scanned images of Photograph,
Signature, thumb impression and self-declaration (in the case of candidate
belonging to J&K) in JPG format only.
- Step 3: Fill the Online Application Form and upload Scanned Images of Photograph,
Signature, thumb impression and self declaration (self-declaration is required
in the case of candidate belonging to J&K only).
- Step 4: Pay Examination Fee by Debit/Credit card or e-Challan.
- Step 5: Download the Confirmation Page and keep the same in safe custody
along with proof of remittance of fees for future reference and records.
NOTE: : While submitting the online application form, the candidate
is required to mention only his/her own or parent’s mobile number (only one
mobile no. and one e-mail ID are valid for one application) as all information/
communication will be sent by the VCI on registered mobile number and e-mail
ID
