IIIT Allahabad invites Applications from Motivated, Enthusiastic candidates ready to explore and investigate challenging problems in the areas like IT, ECE, Applied Science, Management or any other new areas related to Information Technology or in the interdisciplinary domain with IT as one of the domains for admission to the full time residential Ph. D. Programme in the following Departments:

Department of Information Technology

Research Areas:
Robotics, Computer Vision, Remote Sensing, Image Processing, Multimedia, Graphics & Animation, Data Mining, Machine Learning, Soft computing, Artificial Intelligence, Pattern Recognition, Wireless and Mobile Networks, Software Engineering, Theoretical Computer Science, Distributed and High Performance Computing, Cryptography, information Security, Biometrics. Audio and Speech Processing, EEG and Bio-signal Processing, Information Retrieval and Web Technologies, Affective Computing, Human Computer Interaction

Eligibility:
1. The candidate must have a minimum of 65 percent marks/ 7.5 CGPI in the master’s degree
2. Must be a first division in bachelor’s/B.Tech Degree
3. Candidates must have M.Tech./Equivalent Degree with GATE Score in the respective branches.

Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

Research Areas:
Antenna & RF Design, Signal Processing, Low Power Design, Sensor Design & Fabrication, VLSI, Wireless and Mobile Networks, Fiber Optics, Photonics, Embedded Systems, Instrumentation, Bio-Sensors etc.

Eligibility:
1. The candidate must have a minimum of 65 percent marks/ 7.5 CGPI in the master’s degree
2. Must be a first division in bachelor’s/B.Tech Degree
3. Candidates must have M.Tech./Equivalent Degree with GATE Score in the respective branches.

Department of Applied Science

Biomedical Engineering & Bioinformatics : Genomics and Proteomics; Bio-instrumentation (Bio-electrics, Bio-MEMs); Bio-mechanics; Tissue Engineering; Artificial Organ and Rehabilitation Engineering; Medical Imaging and processing; Bio-Nanotechnology; Computer aided drug design; Structural Bioinformatics; Data analysis for Next Generation Sequencing; Big data analytics for biological system; RNA interference

Essential Qualification:
1) B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Biomedical Engg., M.Sc. in Physics (with Electronics spln.), Biotechnology or equivalent
2) NET and/or Valid GATE score

Physics : Quantum information and optics; Nanotechnology; Magnetic and spintronics materials;
Computational physics Essential Qualification:
1) M.Sc. in Physics or equivalent
2) NET and/or Valid GATE score

Mathematics: Functional Analysis, Operators on Banach Spaces, Geometry of Banach spaces Commutative Algebra; Statistical Reliability and Survival Analysis, Statistical Computing

Eligibility:
An applicant with a master’s degree in management or science (Operations Research, Computer Science, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics) or MCA or master’s degree in engineering/technology, satisfying each of the following criteria:
(a) a minimum of 65 percent marks/ 7.5 CGPI in the master’s degree,
(b) first division in bachelor’s degree in science/engineering, and
(c) GATE/ UGC-CSIR NET/JRF qualified
(d) Valid CAT/ GMAT Score 

Admission to reserved-category candidates will be done as per Government of India Rules.

Admission Process for Rolling Admission:

An eligible candidate can apply by filling the online application form available at the Institute’s website. The Ph. D. Cell will then evaluate the candidate’s eligibility and credentials two times in a year normally in the months of May and November.
