Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University invites application for its B.Tech programes in various streams

 
Last Date for Application  : 9 th June, 2012
Counseling for candidates of Rest of India & UTs (except Gujarat State) : 28 th & 29 th June, 2012
Counseling for Gujarat State category candidates : 2 nd and 3 rd July, 2012
Commencement of the Academic Session : 16 th July, 2012

The B.Tech. Programme is divided into eight semesters with two semesters in a year. The programme also includes Internship, Industry Orientation, and Industrial Training. Details about the programme, curriculum, pedagogy, faculty and other resources are available on the University website.

Eligibility:

Gujarat Quota: The students who have appeared at All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2012) conducted by CBSE and passed Higher Secondary Examination (or its equivalent) i.e. 10+2 examination from the Schools located in the Gujarat State with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/SEBC candidate) in Science subjects (including practical) - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply. The students of PC (Physically Challenged)/SC/ST/SEBC/categories shall be included in the merit list of Open category provided they meet with the eligibility criteria of the Open category. The students of PC categories shall be included in the merit list of SC/ST/SEBC category provided they meet with the eligibility criteria of the respective categories.

All India Quota: The students who have appeared at All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE 2012) conducted by CBSE and passed Higher Secondary Examination (or its equivalent) i.e. 10+2 examination from the Schools located in the States (except the Gujarat State) and the UTs with at least 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST candidate) in theory of Science subjects - Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply. Students of SC/ST/PC categories shall be entitled to listing in the Open merit list provided they meet with the eligibility criteria of the Open category. The students of PC categories shall be included in the merit list of SC/ST category provided they meet with the eligibility criteria of the respective categories.

Selection Process:

The eligible candidates seeking admission in the B.Tech. Programme, will have to either submit application in the prescribed form available through the selected branches of ORIENTAL BANK OF COMMERCE across India by paying 1,200/- as application-cum-process fee OR apply on-line through the University web-site for the registration of his candidature.

Merit List: The Admission Committee shall prepare inter-se merit list for the eligible candidates on the basis of their All India Overall Rank for B.E./B.Tech. obtained in the AIEEE 2012 Examination. (Note: Subject to the minimum yardsticks prescribed by AIEEE)

Counseling: The University will invite candidates in the order of Merit at the University Campus on the specified dates as mentioned in the admission schedule for the counseling process through its website. Candidates present at Counseling Session will be given a brief presentation about the University, Programmes and Student Life at Campus. Candidates are required to remain present with original certificates as prescribed in admission process and prescribed fee for the programme.
