NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) Entrance Examination
: Introduction
NIFT, the college of design, technology and management provides professional
education in the field of fashion designing and garment industry. It has
emerged as a premier training Institute in India to train professionals
to meet the Human Resource Development requirements of the apparel industry.
The collaboration of NIFT with National Institute of Design -
Ahmedabad, Indian Institute of Leather Products - Madras, Central Leather
Research Institute - Madras, Jute Manufacturers Development Corporation
- Calcutta, Clothing Manufacturers Association of India - Mumbai and Tirupur
Exporters Association - Tirupur are mutually beneficial to each other.
National Institute of Fashion Technology was set up in 1986 under the
aegis of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. The Institute
is a pioneer in envisioning and evolving fashion business education in
the country through a network of seven professionally managed centres
at Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Gandhinagar, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai.
NIFT offers various full time diploma, bachelors and masters programs.
Entry to these programes are made through the entrance test conducted
by the institute usually in the month of February/ March.
