The Sonny and Gita Mehta India ScholarshipThe Sonny and Gita Mehta India Scholarship will support talented Indian writers to enable them to undertake study in UEA's prestigious Department of Literature, Drama, and Creative Writing. Valued at £28,500, the scholarship requires applicants to submit a separate application.

Provisions

A full scholarship of £28,500 (covering tuition fee and Maintenances) for the academic year with the possibility of extension for a second year (for two-year Postgraduate programs).

Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates wishing to apply for Sonny and Gita Mehta India Scholarship programme should :

The applicant's Nationality is India
Cannot be in receipt of any other awards or scholarships.
Country / Region- International,Asia
Demonstrate genuine financial need

Application Process

The Sonny and Gita Mehta India Scholarship will support a talented Indian writer to enable them to undertake study in our prestigious department of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing at UEA.Applicants must be born and a resident in India.

This scholarship is an automatic award for students who are a national of, or domiciled in India at time of application.
This scholarship will be confirmed automatically shortly after your offer is made.Where a programme is two years in length, the scholarship will be offered for the first year only.

How to apply

Application for the UEA India Award is part of the application procedure for thePostgraduate Taught programme. On the application form we ask whether you want to be considered for a UEA scholarship. Please check this box if you want to be considered and if you fulfill all requirements mentioned above.

Furthermore, you should include a paragraph in your motivation letter in which you explain why you wish to be nominated for the UEA India Award, and what it would mean for your future academic career..

After applying, the coordinators of the Postgraduate Taught Programmes decide which students qualify to apply for the scholarship. All students will be informed as soon as possible.
