The CEPT University provides Scholarship for MPhil/PhD students . The
University offers full tuition fees waiver to MPhil/PhD Architecture students
for their entire term of registration in the program.
CEPT University
takes its name from the 'Centre for Environmental Planning and Technology'. CEPT
and the various schools that it comprises were established by the Ahmedabad
Education Society with the support of the Government of Gujarat and the
Government of India.
Subjects covers
PhD : CEPT started new PhD programs in the academic year 2014, offered by Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Planning. The objective of the program is to train scholars towards advanced research and training.
MPhil : The University has now introduced the MPhil program which will be run alongside the PhD programs in the respective Faculties. This will help the students in expanding their academic choices and enhance career opportunities.
The normal duration of the PhD program is four years . The first two years of the program are devoted to coursework, requiring full-time residency. During residency, students will engage in teaching and/or Faculty research for which they will receive stipend. Doctoral students are expected to undertake courses worth 40 credits over these two years. After successful completion of the coursework, there will be qualifying exams to test competency in the field/discipline and in the area of specialisation. After successfully clearing the qualifying exams, students will be awarded the status of ‘PhD Candidate’. Thereafter, candidates would prepare and defend a research proposal within a maximum period of one semester. During the candidacy period, candidates will work in consultation with their Dissertation Advisory Committee.
Scholarship Details
The University offers
a scholarship (INR 36,700 per month-subject to change) for the first six months
(mandatory) of the coursework against teaching assignments (15-20 hrs/week) as
allocated by the respective Faculty. Continuation of scholarship is subject to
satisfactory performance which will be evaluated periodically.
Selection Criteria
Students would be selected based on their merit performance during CEPT Admissions and family’s financial background. The shortlisted students will appear for a personal interview with the selection committee, comprising Dean FT, Registrar, Academic Director and Admissions Chair.
